Friends, Common rooms and more

Hello everyone, this is my first ever Devlog. I am very excited to do this so let’s get right to it:

 What was added: 

 * Three new wandcores you can get when buying your first wand

* Over four new characters to have conversations with 

 * Consequences if you were mean to characters 

 * Learn more about your teachers

* Time Tables for Subjects

* Common rooms and dormitories

- So I added quite a bit, though it may seem like only a little on one playthrough. Depending on which house you got in, you get 3 different people to talk to. So I had to write about 12 different dialogues with choices and all.

 - The game now ends once you get into your dormitory and meet the students you will be sharing a bedroom with. (If you are interested, later I will show you a short list of all the different students) 

 How it all came to be: 

 This will be a little bit of a story of how I got to do this game, so if you are not interested in that, you can skip this paragraph. It all started with a website full of fan made quizzes. One of them was about… Honestly I don’t know, but it was written like an RPG. Two Hogwarts-students were talking to you, asking you questions and you could choose to answer 4 different ways. I thought this was really fun and wanted to do my own quiz in that format. Maybe how someone got a letter and went on the train and depending on their actions got sorted? I distinctly remember that I wanted to give the player the choice to help someone getting bullied. Well, I didn’t ever geet to do that quiz but I started writing a script, first in my mother language and then I translated everything to english. Originally I worked with TyranoBuilder Visual Novel Studio to make it into more of a Visual Novel with choices. I even did some art for it. (Which I will show later) But it all wasn’t really pretty and a friend had told me about Twine, where I could easily make a text game out of it. Right now I have about 150 pages of a script that I just wrote down in a google doc. I always planned to finish the game after the sorting, but I got a little carried away and started working on more stuff soon, this stuff that I am now giving you.

Some art stuff: (some Spoilers here)

Those are the Time Tables for each house. I made them with GIMP and to tell you the truth, it was super hard to organize them since it all had to fit together.

And here is some of the art I made for some of the characters:

First, Professor Jerimiah McCarthy. You only meet him if you choose to play as Muggelborn. I did however not include his runic tattoos on his neck and shoulders.

Tessa, you meet her in Madam Malkins & daughters when you are getting your robes for the first time. Friends of mine who playtested the game for me have told me, that she is a lot like me. Do with that information as you will.

Caligula. You can easily miss him, but he is the boy you can talk to in the bookshop. And yes, he is trans, because I like to write diverse characters. (there are two more genderqueer students, but he is the most prominent, I hope I wrote him well)

Lorelai and Adorabell. Those third year students you encounter on Diagonalley, they are quit the bullies.

A very unfinished doodle of Iason, who tries to talk to you immidiatly after your encounter with Lorelai and Adorabel. He is a good boy, so I wanted to include him.

Malvin is one of the people you can ride the train with. He is one of my favourits.

And lastly another very unfinished piece of Roderick and Chester, the twins who are your other option on your ride to Hogwarts.
